About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Food Chemical Lab Analyst to join our analytical testing laboratory at ITC Labs, Panchkula. The candidate will be responsible for conducting chemical and instrumental analysis of food and related samples, maintaining laboratory standards, and ensuring accurate and timely reporting of test results.

Key Responsibilities

* Perform chemical and nutritional analysis of food samples as per approved SOPs and test methods.
* Conduct routine testing for:
* Moisture
* Fat
* Protein
* Ash
* Total Solids
* Acidity / pH
* Salt and other physicochemical parameters
* Perform UV-Visible spectrophotometric analysis (UV-Vis) for relevant food chemical parameters.
* Prepare samples, reagents, standards and solutions as per prescribed procedures.
* Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
* Perform calibration, standardization and routine checks of instruments.
* Record observations, calculations and analytical results accurately.
* Ensure testing is carried out according to SOPs, validated methods and laboratory quality requirements.
* Maintain laboratory records, worksheets, logbooks and test documentation.
* Identify deviations, abnormal results and out-of-specification (OOS) results and escalate them appropriately.
* Follow laboratory GLP, safety and quality control practices.
* Support internal quality audits and maintain proper documentation.
* Ensure cleanliness and proper housekeeping of the laboratory and work area.
* Coordinate with senior analysts and other laboratory teams for timely completion of testing.

Technical Skills Required

* Good knowledge of food chemistry and analytical testing.
* Hands-on experience in Moisture, Fat, Protein and Ash analysis.
* Knowledge of UV-Visible Spectrophotometer and basic instrumental analysis.
* Knowledge of titration, gravimetric and volumetric analysis.
* Familiarity with preparation of reagents, standards and solutions.
* Understanding of SOPs, GLP, calibration and laboratory documentation.
* Basic knowledge of food testing standards and analytical methods.
* Ability to interpret analytical results and perform basic calculations.

Educational Qualification

B.Sc./M.Sc. in Chemistry, Food Chemistry, Food Technology, Food Science, Biochemistry or a related discipline.

Preferred Experience

* 1–4 years of experience in a food testing, chemical testing, analytical laboratory, FMCG, food manufacturing or NABL-accredited laboratory.
* Candidates with hands-on experience in food chemical analysis and UV-Vis testing will be preferred.
