Sr. Testing Engineer – Electrical & Electronics

Noida B.Tech in Electrical Engineering 5+ years

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Vibration Testing Engineer to join our testing laboratory team. The candidate will be responsible for conducting vibration and reliability testing on electrical and electronic products/components as per national and international standards while ensuring compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 (NABL) requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Vibration Testing Operations

  • Conduct vibration testing on electrical & electronic products/components using electrodynamic and servo-hydraulic vibration systems.
  • Perform testing as per applicable standards including:
    • IS Standards – IS 9000 Series, IS 2423, IS 9000-14, etc.
    • IEC Standards – IEC 60068-2-6, IEC 60068-2-64, IEC 60068-2-27, IEC 60068-2-29
    • ISO Standards – ISO 16750, ISO 10816 (as applicable)
    • JASO Standards – Automotive vibration profiles
    • JIS Standards – JIS D 1601, JIS C Standards (as applicable)
  • Execute:
    • Sine vibration tests
    • Random vibration tests
    • Resonance search & dwell tests
    • Endurance testing
  • Ensure proper mounting, fixturing, orientation, and loading of test samples.

2. Electrical & Electronics Testing

  • Perform functional monitoring of DUTs during vibration testing.
  • Conduct pre-test and post-test electrical checks including:
    • Continuity testing
    • Insulation resistance testing
    • Dielectric withstand testing (if applicable)
    • Functional performance verification
  • Identify electrical failures such as intermittent faults, open/short circuits, and signal distortion caused by vibration.

3. Test Planning & Execution

  • Review test requests, specifications, drawings, and applicable standards.
  • Prepare test plans and test setups as per testing requirements.
  • Select appropriate accelerometers, sensors, charge amplifiers, and DAQ systems.
  • Configure test parameters including:
    • Frequency range
    • Acceleration
    • Displacement
    • PSD
    • Duration & tolerances

4. Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Analyze vibration test data including FFT, PSD plots, and time-domain signals.
  • Identify abnormalities such as resonance amplification, over-testing, and fixture influence.
  • Prepare accurate and NABL-compliant test reports.
  • Maintain traceability of results with calibrated equipment.

5. ISO/IEC 17025 (NABL) Compliance

  • Work in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025:2017 requirements.
  • Maintain and follow:
    • Test methods & SOPs
    • Equipment operation procedures
    • Environmental condition records
    • Raw data and testing records
  • Participate in:
    • Internal audits
    • Management reviews
    • NABL assessments
  • Support:
    • Method validation
    • Uncertainty evaluation
    • Proficiency testing activities

6. Equipment & Laboratory Management

  • Operate and maintain:
    • Vibration shakers
    • Power amplifiers
    • Controllers
    • Accelerometers & signal conditioners
  • Perform daily, weekly, and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate calibration of vibration systems and sensors.
  • Ensure safe operation of all laboratory equipment and testing activities.

7. Quality, Safety & Continuous Improvement

  • Follow laboratory safety procedures during high-vibration and powered testing.
  • Identify non-conformities and support CAPA implementation.
  • Suggest improvements in test methods, fixtures, and workflows.
  • Assist in training junior engineers and technicians.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in:
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Electronics Engineering
    • EEE / ECE
  • Diploma candidates with relevant experience may also be considered.

Required Skills & Knowledge

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of:
    • Vibration theory (frequency, resonance, acceleration, displacement)
    • Electrical & electronic circuits
    • Sensor instrumentation & data acquisition
  • Hands-on experience with vibration shakers and controllers.
  • Understanding of environmental and reliability testing.

Standards Knowledge

  • IS, IEC, ISO, JASO, and JIS vibration testing standards.
  • ISO/IEC 17025 (NABL) documentation and implementation.

Software & Tools

  • Vibration control software
  • Data analysis tools
  • MS Excel & reporting tools

Personal Attributes

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • High attention to detail and documentation accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Good communication skills with clients and auditors

Preferred / Added Advantage

  • Experience in automotive vibration testing
  • Exposure to EMC, environmental, or safety testing
  • NABL Internal Auditor Training
