Introduction: Formaldehyde-releasing agents are used as preservatives in a wide range of cosmetics. Formaldehyde is a restricted ingredient in cosmetics in Canada. It cannot be added in concentrations greater than 0.2 per cent in most products. Many research shows that exposure to formaldehyde increase in the risk of cancer, lungs and skin diseases.
