Preservative

Introduction

Preservatives are additives that particularly concern consumers. They’re used to slow bacterial growth and prolong a product’s shelf life. This can keep a product from causing infections of the skin or eyes. Parabens (methylparaben, propylparaben, butylparaben, and ethylparaben.) are a family of related chemicals that are commonly used as preservatives in cosmetic products to. prevent the growth of harmful bacteria and mold, in order to protect both the products and consumers. Parabens can mimic hormones in the body and disrupt functions of the endocrine system .Sodium Sulfate is an inorganic salt. In cosmetics and personal care products, Sodium Sulfate is used in the formulation of cleansers, bath soaps and detergents, and skin care preparations to improve the thickness of finished products.
